RE: NEMS 1.4.1 Static IP address
(NEMS): Static IP? (USER): y (NEMS): (Checks for current internet access) Do not enable this unless you are sure you need it, we strongly suggest you use DHCP. DHCP is already working, you can break your install and may need to start over, or worse break your network. Static IP, are you sure? (US...

RE: NEMS 1.4.1 Static IP address
Static IP addresses is the only thing that Webmin did have (in early days of NEMS, which they broke and never fixed)... so I'll get rid of it and create my own UI. Cheers. To be fair I think Raspbian broke it, the Webmin team just never patched it to work with the new 'ways' (DHCPCD, which is IMHO,...

RE: NEMS 1.4.1 Static IP address
I think Cockpit is already replacement for Webmin. If the primary use for Webmin is the networking stuff, and the network stuff is broken in Webmin (as far as I know it has never worked with NEMS), I am genuinely curious what it is intended to be used for now and what a (potential) replacement needs...

RE: Check Network (IP or MAC)
Where do you want to pull the information from? I get this with Syslog from my switch. Many managed switches also have the ability to shut-down the port when a port detects another MAC address, that is great for security. Someone plugs unplugs their computer and plugs in a home-router to 'add' WiF...

IP Address Management
I think this would fit in with NEMS goals.. My spread-sheet method is getting complex. An IP Address Management system. phpIPAM https://phpipam.net/ https://demo.phpipam.net/ https://github.com/phpipam/phpipam Another is NetBox - looks leaner than phpIPAM https://github.com/digitalocean/netbox htt...

RE: NEMS Linux distro that can run on Raspberry Pi PC in addition to Pi.
I think a x86 version is already planned for the future. I'm not sure why you would want to run a desktop OS on it though.. My concern would be for updates for whatever software you want to be using breaking NEMS..

RE: NEMS 1.4.1 Static IP address
Is Webmin actually used for anything? Personally the only thing I use Webmin for is BIND configurations (Edit: and IPTables), and yes, I do run BIND on my NEMS Pi3, but I haven't been using Webmin for it. I have no issues at all seeing it go especially because it would free up a bunch of RAM. ;) Ar...

RE: NEMS 1.4.1 Static IP address
I now just upgraded from 1.3 to 1.4.. Also having issues with setting static IPs, this applies to Raspbian in general for me though.. Normal Debian 9, no issues at all.. lol Raspbian networking is usually the only thing I get frustrated with.. DHCPCD is very poorly documented IMHO, but it doesn'...

RE: PushOver
Honestly, I haven't gotten past this part yet. While I love NEMS, I still haven't actually done anything with it besides add and run BIND on it.
Got caught up in other projects.

RE: PushOver
I made a decision to leave NEMS 1.3 as a rolling release. Since this feature would have required a re-flash, it has been moved to NEMS 1.4. I've added a goal to the NEMS Patreon page to port NEMS 1.4 to the Raspberry Pi when it is released. Huh? Well the rolling release picked it up.. It is there...
