NEMs via POE
This may fall into the "incredibly obvious category", but I found it to be useful. I am running several RPis (one with Nems) POE via a simple adapter. Like this one. (there are alot of these of various makes and features. No connection to this one, except it works). I'm also tinkering with...

Signal 11 (SEGV) caught by ps (3.3.12).
Not sure if this is a bug, or if something else is going on. NEMS instance has been cooking along without issue. No changes made. Been super useful as we've been moving things around on the network. One day nagios starts throwing an warning (amber) on NEMS (it is monitoring itself). The "total ...

RE: Nems stops at midnight
It's not much of an issue for me, one I figured it out. It took me a while to connect the downtime setting to the problem I was experiencing. Thanks for the offer.

Nems stops at midnight
I ran into this, and eventually tracked it down. Hopefully this will help if someone else runs into ti. It's a nagios (not nems specifically) thing. My issue was ad midnight, nagios would stop. The log would say "caught SIGSEGV, shutting down" and shutdown. Apparently under certain circum...

RE: Email notifications - gmail
At the moment i made sure all the variables had arbitrary values in them used or not. That was at the end of some protracted troubleshooting. I can go back and see if null works also. I think there must be a bit more to it than an unused variable, as a number of the other variables are also unused, ...

RE: Email notifications - gmail
Sorry, I could have sworn I replied to this - but I guess not. Or I forgot to hit "post" or something. Well, maybe a bug. A curiosity for certain. If I use the Nems Systems Settings tool, I end up with a resource.cfg that does not have a $USER2$ macro/variable defined. If I go in and edi...

RE: Email notifications - gmail - bug found?
Ok, you can poke at it for a week, and find it an hour after you post on it. When i use the nagios system settings tool, I end up with a resource.cfg that does not have a $USER2$ macro/variable defined. Email don;t go. If I manually edit the file, and put that in (with no value) things work. If I to...

RE: Email notifications - gmail
I probably should have been more specific.
I can get the nems email test to work, and i can build an sendemail command line that works, but nothing out of nagios.

Email notifications - gmail
If anyone has notifications working with gmail - could you please forward me your settings? Notify-host-by-email string, server settings, port, tls settings etc. I don;t think there is anything in there that would need to be redacted. I cannot quite seem to get this going. I had it working in 1.2x, ...

Storage
I have read elsewhere, that you are considering alternative hardware platforms. Seems like a neat idea. As an offshoot, or perhaps predecessor to that, simply supporting an external storage option (like a WD PiDrive) would, at least in my case, solve most of the reasons an alternative platform would...
