Changing samba password

Post by arohl »

I am running NEMS 1.5 on a pine64. I am trying to backup the configuration via samba; however as I seem to have to embed the samba password in my script that mounts nems on my Mac, I want to change it to be different to the login password.

I tried smbpasswd but got
SAMR connection to machine 127.0.0.1 failed. Error was NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED, but LANMAN password changes are disabled

Any ideas?

Many thanks

  Andrew

PS An even better solution would be one that requires no password at all. I note that I can mount the nems samba mount as guest which shows the Backup and Home directories but I can't open them.
