cant Generate config Error: Invalid max_check_attempts value for host

Post by patrick78 »

Hello everybody,

I have a problem creating the config, when I click on Generate Nagios Config I get the error message:
Error: Invalid max_check_attempts value for host 'aaatest'
Error: Could not register host (config file '/var/www/html/nconf/temp/Default_collector/hosts.cfg', starting on line 1696)
The following path is in Nagios Config:
cfg_dir = / etc / nems / conf / Default_collector
the whole thing only happens at the Check_commands, is the path stored somewhere else?

greetings Patrick

You created a host named aaatest and forgot to add max_check_attempts to the host. Simply open the host again in edit mode and add a proper value. Perhaps watching the video tutorial on our site would help.

For me, I did add the max value attempt, and other settings identical to the the youtube video. It worked for my first client, but when I add a second, I get the same error as reported on this thread.

My work around was to clone the one working client I have. But this is troubling because I went line by line in comparison when I tried to do it before cloning. Odd behavior with error messages that don't seem accurate.
