Port 12489: Connection refused on Linux Client

Post by propellerhead333 »

Code: Select all

CPU Load - connect to address 192.168.x.x and port 12489: Connection refused
My linux client running NRPE is failing CPU (and other checks where the NEMS server is trying to connect to port 12489. The checks were inherited from the default "linux-server" group as discussed in the youtube setup video.

What service is supposed to be listening on port 12489 to talk back to the NEMS server? My firewall is open. I get a connection refused both in the nagios dashboard and also telnet. The refused is due to nothing is listening on this port on the client to respond back.

NRPE documentation on NEMS shows to expect port 12489 to be listening somewhere on the client. I have no idea where/what that is. Netstat shows nothing on that port listening on the client... just 5666.
