NEMS http monitor

The http monitor nems is running on itself (I think this was a pre-configured check) is firing quite a bit. A dozen or two times per day. It tends to clear itself right up, but is really cluttering up the dashboard and my metrics.
Any thoughts as to why this might be unhappy with itself? My load seems to be hovering right around 1 +/-, on a pi3b and 1.5.1.
The load went u substantially when the temperature probe connected. interrupts level too.
Of course that is also the time I got the nifty new dashboard and started noticing the large number of soft alerts.
Other than turning off the monitor - any thoughts on why it might be unhappy?
