Windows 2004 breaks WMI plus plugin

Post by kd4pyr »

FYI for folks using the WMI plus plugin.

After upgrading my Windows 10 machines to Version 2004 wmic stopped working with the following error:

[wmi/wmic.c:196:main()] ERROR: Login to remote object.
NTSTATUS: NT code 0x80010111 – NT code 0x80010111

I spent a lot of time debugging and then I found this:

https://edcint.co.nz/checkwmiplus/help- ... sion-2004/

It looks like the developers are looking for help resovling the issue. I have stopped using the WMI plus plugin for now.

Please sign the petition.

URGENT: Users of #NEMSLinux and @nagiosinc at large, Microsoft is making changes that could mean the end of agentless monitoring on Windows hosts. Please sign the petition to redevelop check_wmi_plus and support them through donations: https://edcint.co.nz/checkwmiplus/expre ... ic-client/

Thanks. Okay all. Here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to take over development on the WMIC implementation within NEMS Linux. This needs fast resolution, and with so few people signing the petition, I am not confident it will be fixed in time for this month's beta release of NEMS Linux 1.6.

If you'd like to help, let me know. Otherwise, note that I will be shifting my focus to WMIC until this is resolved.

I will need testers. Any volunteers?

Hiya,

I'd be willing to try any new version, we're not using NEMS where i'm at, but if a distribution agnostic binary is available I can test it on tens of thousands of hosts

I'd be willing to beta test. I manage a small windows environment ranging from Win Server 2008 R2 through Server 2019 STD and a bunch of Win 10 machines.
