I have read elsewhere, that you are considering alternative hardware platforms. Seems like a neat idea.
As an offshoot, or perhaps predecessor to that, simply supporting an external storage option (like a WD PiDrive) would, at least in my case, solve most of the reasons an alternative platform would be desirable.
The SD card, seems to be a consumable for me.
I realize others may need more horsepower, but in my case, improving the mass storage situation would be key.
I've done this myself already, but loose some of the image benefits of the current approach.
Just a thought.

If you review the changelogs and the to-do list, you'll see this is already in heavy development.
NEMS 1.4 will see the other platforms, and when 1.3 and 1.4 merge in the spring (to NEMS 1.5), we'll have external/network storage options in place for all platforms.
